Title: Digital Architect - 61502
John Deere plays an integral role in feeding the world. Would you like to put your talent to use by helping farmers be more efficient? We are hiring a Digital Architect at our John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG), located in either Urbandale, IA or Milan, IL. You will provide support to the Stellar and AgLogic teams. Stellar is a sales system application used for licensing and activating all ISG software products. AgLogic is a farm logistics application that helps farm managers and contractors schedule work orders for application equipment.
How You’ll Spend Your Day - #LifeAtDeere
Helping define the Stellar and AgLogic architecture roadmaps
Creating/reviewing API specifications for system interfaces
Building proof of concepts to help evaluate design tradeoffs
Evaluating new technologies and documenting usage patterns
Participating in PSI planning and other runway team activities
Participating in technology governance activities
Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure technical alignment across the Digital system

What Skills You Need
5 or more years of experience designing/building software using an object-oriented language like C++, Java, Scala or C#
3 or more years of experience designing/building web applications
Demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring a team
Effective management of multiple simultaneous projects
Excellent written and verbal communication
Excellent presentation and meeting facilitation
What Makes You Stand Out
Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design
Experience with API design and governance
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google
Good understanding of precision agriculture technology
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
