Your Responsibilities

As an Administrative Assistant for John Deere located in Moline, Illinois, you will assist the Factory Manager, and other leadership at Seeding Moline. In addition, you will:

  • Schedule meetings, coordinate travel arrangements, and maintain appointment calendars on behalf of department managers or supervisors; may coordinate meeting amenities (i.e. refreshments, etc.)

  • Facilitate and organize workflow through the supervisor's office, ensuring that all items requiring follow up action are addressed by the supervisor

  • Support factory communications and visitor services workflow

  • Produce complex reports, correspondence, and presentations utilizing sensitive or confidential company information

  • Develop and maintain more complex web sites with the assistance of basic web publishing software applications

  • Create and maintain sensitive department records; use data to prepare letters and memoranda for supervisor's signature

  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers that do not require the supervisor's attention

  • Refer complex or highly sensitive issues to the supervisor, as well as convey supervisor's instructions and requirements to others, and exchange information with senior managers on the supervisor's behalf

What Skills You Need

  • Administrative Assistant and/or Coordinator experience

  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint) plus intranet and internet functions

  • Experience in planning and organizing

  • Experience in writing memos, announcements and other correspondence

  • Experience maintaining confidential data

  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple requests and tasks

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Comfortable and confident communicating throughout the organization

  • Experience scheduling meetings and maintaining appointments on calendars

  • Administrative assistant experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience coordinating travel arrangements medium

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Degree in Business, Administration, Technical degree, Apprenticeship, or equivalent discipline
