Title: Data Science Cost Engineer - 74225

Your Responsibilities

As a Data Science Cost Engineer for Cost Intelligence located in Moline, IL you will p rovide insight, develop / maintain cost models, and aid the strategic sourcing process and help the team develop strategies for sourcing, negotiations, and decision-making. In addition you will:

  • Provides industry / market analysis for commodities to assist the sourcing teams in structuring and negotiating long-term agreements and in understanding the cost drivers that affect the volatility or stability of how commodities are priced.

  • Applies electronic tools aPriori, BDI, and Regression across a broad range of applications.

  • Independently develop new cost tools / libraries / models, visits suppliers for gaining cost/manufacturing intelligence and leads Design to Cost (D2C) efforts.

  • Analyzes the impact of cost drivers on globally sourced commodities and assists in the development of terms and conditions. May use the Quote Form as an analysis tool.

What Skills You Need

  • Background in Engineering ( mechanical , electrical , hydraulics, power systems, etc.).

  • Skilled in using computer aided design.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities

  • 4 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, quality.

  • 4 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases.

  • Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Respected knowledgeable leader in competency area.

  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Degree in Analytics (minor).

  • Experience analyzing large data sets utilizing statistical modeling methods.

  • Experience utilizing SQL, Python, R Shiny or equivalent tools.

  • Technical skills in design for manufacturability.

  • 4 or more years of manufacturing engineering experience.

  • 1 or more years of Supply Management experience.

  • Experience leading a complex cost reduction or cost avoidance project requiring collaboration with at least 3 functions.

  • 4 or more years of experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan) and work measurement.

  • 4 or more years of experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools.

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering / Technology discipline or equivalent experience.
