Title: Infrastructure Engineer II (50849903) - 74310

Your Responsibilities

As an Infrastructure Engineer II you will work on an Agile team that will be providing global solutions for John Deere’s Local Area Network infrastructure (wired and wireless) across the world. This would include supporting our quality and uptime metrics; evaluating new infrastructure and tools, designing reliable and cost-effective solutions; and creating process and automation tasks to support these environments.

  • Serve as a technology innovator by staying current with network trends/technologies and their potential applications for supporting our business needs.

  • Participate and provide knowledge on network sub-teams focused on standards and strategic road mapping activities for network switching and wireless technologies.

  • Support, evaluate and continuously improve the LAN infrastructure and processes to maintain alignment with business initiatives and team strategic goals.

  • Provide advanced support for global switches, wireless controllers, and access points ( Support consists of design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, tuning and maintenance).

  • Support and develop processes and automation tasks to support quality, delivery, and support efficiencies.

What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)

  • 3 + years of experience in network and/or network security technologies.

  • Project management experience with demonstrated ability to drive results.

  • Experience with LAN and WiFi troubleshooting, design, evaluation, and documentation.

  • Experience working with Cisco network infrastructure (switches, wireless controllers, and access points).

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to fully participate and contribute to a strong supportive team environment.

  • Prioritize qualification requirements from most important to least. Start each bullet with time reference (3 or more years of experience) and key words of experiences.

What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)

  • Experience supporting large global IT environments.

  • Experience with automation (Ansible, Python, Perl, EEM &/or other scripting).

  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure in factory and warehouse environments.

  • Experience working on an Agile team.


  • An IT related Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience as a Network Engineer. Cisco or other IT Certifications.
