Title: IT Security Analyst - 51199
This position may be located in Moline, IL, Des Moines, IA or Ames, IA per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.
As an IT Security Analyst at John Deere you will investigate cyber security events to determine impact and root cause, and coordinate remediation efforts globally. In addition, you will:
Apply critical thinking and investigation strategies to correlate information from multiple data sources to resolve cyber security events
Understand the current Cyber Security threat landscape and apply best practices to new and existing incident handling processes
Coach/mentor new/less skilled Security Analysts to identify and remediate cybersecurity events
Participate on Security Operations Center (SOC) leadership and governance committee to steer vision and development of the SOC
Identify and deploy new tools and/or processes to improve SOC Analyst effectiveness and improve company's overall security posture
Represent SOC in cross-functional teams to enable Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management, Insider Threat or Penetration Testing services for the enterprise
Participate in Incident Response efforts of various sizes that impact the enterprise

What Skills You Need
Ability to participate in an on-call 24/7 support/remediation center and support the business off-hours as needed
3 or more years of experience in a Security Analyst or similar role responsible for a security service with an end-customer focus
3 or more years of computer language scripting experience (Pearl, Java, PowerShell, VB, etc.)
What Makes You Stand Out
Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:
Experience with security event triage and investigations, malware analysis methodologies, and related best practices
Experience in security log monitoring tools including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems
Experience of working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment
Education (or equivalent work experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security or Technical Degree/Apprenticeship
