Function: Operations

Title: Material Coordinator Lead - 75392

Your Responsibilities

As a 3 rd Shift Material Coordinator Lead for John Deere Seeding Moline located in Moline, IL, you will:

  • Lead contact for the off-shift production control team

  • Implement and manage off-shift tool and communicate end of shift report(s)

  • Provide coverage plans and training to off-shift production control team

  • Communicate part availability issues and resolution to operations and other key stakeholders

  • Work critical shortage reports to ensure part availability

  • Work closely with several functional areas including operations, engineering, supply management and material flow to root cause and correct material shortages, inventory discrepancies, reporting issues, COGI and consumption issues

  • Implement the output from the engineering release and change management process

  • Provide information to operators for system locations, track and request critical parts and locate missing or lost loads

What Skills You Need

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with an emphasis on effective written and verbal communication

  • Proven organizational experience handling multiple projects or tasks

  • Experience leading a team or project and delivering results

  • Effective documentation, planning and decision-making skills

  • Able and willing to work variable shifts and/or extended hours to support the production schedule, including Saturdays

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with a Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system, such as SAP

  • Experience with Power BI

  • Experience influencing without authority

  • Knowledge of Kanban and other delivery methods

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory operations

  • Experience with Order Fulfillment, Supply Management and/or Material Flow processe s

  • Experience leading meetings and speaking in front of a group


Ideally, you will have a degree or 3 or more years of equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, Supply Management, Accounting/Finance or a related field
