Title: Senior Front-End Software Engineer - 79479

Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Front-end Software Engineer in Customer Proactive Services you will be a member of a delivery scrum team tasked with building innovative solutions that will improve the reliability and efficiency of technicians and customers that use Service ADVISOR to diagnose, repair and maintain their John Deere equipment. In this role you will:

  • Be an active member of an Agile software delivery team, work with other delivery teams across the product family to implement an intuitive and efficient user experience leveraging modern front-end frameworks, sound software design and quality driven technical practices

  • Transform and continuously improve product to meet or exceed the product's specifications of availability, quality and user experience

  • Ensure a high quality and sustainable code base by leveraging strong technical practices including Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD

  • Support and evolve a DevOps culture using DevOps principles

  • Root cause, debug, and fix complex application issues and lead prevent recurrence initiatives within the Product's code base

  • Participate in Agile planning ceremonies

  • Champion technical community, standards and processes; accountable for technical outcomes

What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)

  • 5+ years of experience in large scale applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • 3+ years development experience with React and its latest features, Redux, CSS Modules, modular CSS

  • Basic knowledge of Webpack, Webpack loaders, and other configurations

  • 2+ years of experience with Agile delivery processes

  • Ability to apply Test Driven Development (TDD) using a recognized framework

  • Experience collaborating with Ux Researchers and Designers; Generateing high quality User Interfaces

  • Effective communication skills

What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)

  • Knowledge beyond what create-react-app teaches, like setting up a project from scratch

  • Experience in TypeScript, Jest testing framework, NodeJS, progressive web applications

  • Experience with CI/CD build processes and configuration

  • Experience establishing and maturing a DevOps culture by implementing/using DevOps principles

  • Experience working with public cloud technologies and infrastructure as code

  • Experience working with Global business teams’ members


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or related
