Title: Senior Software Engineer - 61749

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer be a software developer on an agile delivery team dedicated to the development and delivery of solutions, like Service ADVISOR, for John Deere dealer technicians. In addition, you will;

  • Work closely as an active member of the Agile software development team to ensure that the software, data, and necessary equipment function together to meet or exceed the product specifications

  • Evaluate and develop high quality software solutions to improve performance, quality, and cost for John Deere dealers

  • Deliver high quality products utilizing Agile and XP principles

  • Work within established guidelines such as coding standards, workflow, or tool standards

  • Establish root cause, debug, and fix complex application issues

  • Drive technical standards and processes

What Skills You Need

  • 7 or more years of experience in large scale applications using Java, C++, and/or Javascript/HTML5 programming

  • 7 or more years of experience with Agile delivery processes

  • 7 or more years of experience with applications development environment, database, data administration and infrastructure capabilities and constraints

  • Experience working with Test Driven Development, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Test Automation

  • Experience with CI/CD build processes and configuration

  • Experience setting strategic direction for code design with lightweight architectural guidance

  • Experience working with public cloud technologies

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Experience working with REST web services, Spring, Maven, Hibernate, MySQL, IntelliJ or RAD/Eclipse IDE

  • Large-scale web applications experience

  • Experience working across multiple delivery teams

  • Performance testing/tuning experience

  • Experience leading a team through large technical transition

  • Experience with DevOps and creating a DevOps culture

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering
