Title: Software Analyst, Analytics Tools - 66047

Your Responsibilities

As a Software Analyst, for the John Deere Enterprise (Moline), you will support systems and software deployment and/or maintenance for analytics tools by planning its work and coordinating with others to deliver functionality on complex systems. In addition, you will:

  • Rely on advanced-level knowledge and experience on two software packages that includes the Business Objects software suite (Webi, Dashboard, Crystal Reports, SAP Live Office, SAP Analysis for Office) and Microsoft Power BI

  • Work on significant parts of the software packages and solves problems with little guidance

  • Act as a work lead, providing technical coaching to other analysts and support personnel

  • Be recognized as an expert on a system for both Business Objects and Microsoft Power BI

  • Act as a mentor and consults with others on analytic industry standards, system functionality, and best practices

  • Maintain a strong and collaborative relationship with the business and IT and serves as a strong advocate of analytic processes and tools through various methods of communication to the organization

  • Support, evaluate, and continuously improve information technology and business processes surrounding analytics (specifically Business Objects and Microsoft Power BI) to maintain alignment with the data and analytics community

Proven Technical Skills and Experiences

  • 4 or more years of experience with the technical functionality of Business Objects and Microsoft Power BI

  • 4 or more years of experience delivering business solutions with analytics tools, specifically Microsoft Power BI and the Business Objects suite of tools

  • 2 or more years of experience with change management for analytics tools, specifically Microsoft Power BI and the Business Objects suite of tools

  • 2 or more years of understanding of computer technology, methodology, and full life-cycle development

  • 2 or more years of foundational technical aptitude related to applications development environment, database, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints in order to understand and resolve technical impediments

  • 1 or more years of proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment

  • 1 or more years of proven deep experience leveraging DevSecOps and lean development principles such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

  • 1 or more years of experience with software test automation (TDD and Unit Testing Frameworks: Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Cypress)

Interpersonal, Leadership and Teaming Competencies, Product Knowledge

  • Capable of collaborating with other team members to ensure that features meet business needs (e.g. 2 or more years in a software analyst role)

  • Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution

  • Proven experience working in a team environment within minimal supervision; team-oriented

  • Eager to develop both his/her own skills and those of others

  • Certification in analytics tools, specifically Microsoft Power BI and the Business Objects suite of tools, Cloud/AWS

  • Strong ability to mentor others and provide technical feedback to those with differing levels of expertise

  • Deep understanding of infrastructure and deployment of 3rd party software packages for thousands of users

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or IT Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience
