Title: Software Engineer - 62011

Your Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer at John Deere in Moline, IL, you will operate within the IT Finance Order Management Agile team and participate in all aspects of the team's work regarding software analysis, development and testing. In addition, you will;

  • Participate in discussions with the Scrum and Product teams to develop technical solutions to satisfy business requirements related to Billing, Invoicing and Accounting

  • Lead aspects of the team's technical practices such as selecting design solutions and leveraging industry standards for development practices within the team

  • Participate in a variety of efforts related directly and indirectly to back-end development

  • Participate in the analysis and design of solutions to improve quality and performance

  • Work alongside other team members in the development of a DevOps culture

  • Assist with root cause analysis and resolution of production support issues

  • Guide/Mentor junior members of the team and perform proper code reviews

Proven Technical Skills and Experiences

  • 4 years of experience in the design, development, testing and integration of high complex software solutions leveraging change management, specifically with back-end designs, development and optimization (Java web development with Spring and RESTful APIs)

  • 4 years of experience understanding applications development environment, database, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints

  • 2 years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment

  • 2 years of experience leveraging DevSecOps and lean development principles such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (GitHub and Jenkins)

  • 2 years of experience with software test automation (TDD and Unit Testing Frameworks: Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Cypress)

  • 2 years of working understanding of design patterns

  • Demonstrated knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REACT

  • Experience in cloud development with platforms like AWS or Azure

Interpersonal, Leadership and Teaming Competencies

  • Capable of collaborating with multiple business stakeholders to provide information technology solutions

  • Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution

  • Proven experience working in a team environment

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering, related discipline or relevant work experience
