Your Responsibilities

As Staff Engineer, Site Reliability at our Order Management Operations based at our world headquarters in Moline, IL (https://www.deere.com/en/our-company/john-deere-careers/interview-resources/moline-world-headquarters/) , you will be responsible for collaborating with various product scrum teams to identify, analyze, select, and apply appropriate tools and practices to ensure a reliable, scalable, and secured application environment.

You will also have access to a diverse technical stack spanning cloud, Java, iOS/Android, SAP, mainframe-based applications, and infrastructure.

In addition, you will...

  • Implement new information technology and application infrastructure utilizing foundational DevSecOps practices, principles, and toolsets

  • Utilize industry-proven tools and custom solutions to find and fill gaps within infrastructure and application monitoring

What Skills You Need

  • 5+ years of experience with configuring & utilizing system monitoring tools within an enterprise computing environment (AppDynamics, DotCom, ServiceNow, SAP Focused Run, SiteScope, New Relic, Thousand Eyes)

  • 5+ years of experience with web application development and web services (REST & SOAP)

  • 5+ years of experience hosting complex applications requiring high performance and scalability

  • 5+ years of experience working with cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 1+ year of experience with Agile software development methodologies

  • Experience coaching and mentoring software engineers

  • Ability to influence without authority

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology discipline or 5 years of equivalent experience
