Your Responsibilities
This position is eligible for remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
As a Supply Base Manager, Software for Indirect Materials and Services with John Deere, you will lead the Strategic Sourcing process for software in the Channel & Customer Facing and Manufacturing global IT business areas. In this position, you will:
Own and manage supplier relationships
Lead, develop and execute global software sourcing strategies, including Deere’s value-added reseller and procure to pay strategies
Lead contractual negotiations as strategies are developed and as work is procured throughout the life of contracts
Lead the Achieving Excellence process in order to effectively manage supplier performance
Collaborate regularly with global IT stakeholders, specifically assisting and supporting distinctive IT quality, security, delivery, and value creation

What Skills You Need
3 or more years of experience in Supply Management or working directly with Supply Management
Experience in managing large, complex projects with a high financial impact
Excellent people, communication, and relationship management skills
Experience analyzing information to make strategic decisions
Experience identifying new opportunities to create efficiencies, value, and/or cost reduction
Ability and willingness to travel 25% domestically and internationally, when appropriate and necessary

Demonstrated ability to influence without authority
Experience negotiating and managing software contracts
Demonstrated understanding of commercial and legal aspects of indirect purchasing
Experience working globally, across divisions
Understanding of IT Products and Services
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Management, Business/ Management, Information Technology, Engineering or Accounting/Finance discipline
