Title: Instructional Designer - 49164
As an Instructional Designer for John Deere located in Olathe, Kansas, you will perform need assessments to determine training needs of the target participants - channel partners, company personnel or customers. In addition, you will:
Collaborate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders in assessment of training objectives, outcomes and measurements
Transform needs analysis data into learning objectives and create course outlines, assessments, and documentation to support the development of curriculum
Determine the appropriate instructional design strategy based upon the performance required of the learner
Determine and develop the appropriate method and media of the training using sound instructional design and adult learning principles
Modify content, delivery, or environment based upon evaluation findings
Maintain or facilitate the maintenance of electronic repository of learning objects and data files
Design and develop content

What Skills You Need
Business Process Knowledge of assigned area(s) and/or function(s)
Knowledge of products and services offered by the appropriate area of responsibility
Knowledge of activities, their sequence and measurement, and the ability to facilitate implementation of process and participate in process
Knowledge of various communication skills such as design, editing, photography, audio visual, web, marketing and advertising
Ability to travel up to 50%
What Makes You Stand Out
4 or more years of experience in training and development area involved in activities such as instruction, needs assessments, curriculum development, and other such related training and development work
4 or more years of technical training experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
4 or more years of training experience of a non-technical nature
Experience using various department specific computer programs (Robohead, Widen)
Education (or equivalent work experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Education, or equivalent discipline
