Your Responsibilities

As an Environmental Professional for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, IA, you will coordinate and conduct environmental audits to verify conformance with EMS standards and applicable environmental laws and regulations. In addition, you will:

  • Communicate results of analysis and interpretation to appropriate work group for awareness and any required remedial action.

  • Compile data, documentation, and correspondence to comply with environmental regulations and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements.

  • Have the ability to respond to emergency situations that could occur inside or outside of standard working hours.

  • Develop and deliver relevant and effective training to employees.

What Skills You Need

  • 1 or more years of work experience as an environmental professional

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations at the state and federal level

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience in developing and / or updating environmental plans, permits, and standard operating procedures

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience working in the environmental compliance field at a manufacturing facility.

  • Experience with ISO14001:2015 Management System


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
