Function: Product Engineering
Title: Senior Engineer - 43375
As a Senior Engineer for John Deere Seeding Group in Paton, IA you will lead a custom planter team in developing concepts, designs, and models in Creo based on specialized knowledge of engineering practices with emphasis on reliability, quality, function, and cost of product. In addition, you will:
Utilize Creo, PDMLink, SAP to create engineering change notifications for release of components and subsystems
Work with cross functional teams to facilitate detailed planning in order to ensure successful implementation of new designs
Lead the resolution of complex technical problems by incorporating input from other engineers, manufacturing, staff organizations, and customers
Analyze custom planter requests and determine engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for custom planter build
Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of custom planter design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel
Provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality, supply management, design teams worldwide and technical support teams to ensure customer satisfaction

What Skills You Need
5 or more years of product design experience
Experience in Planter product technology
Expertise in Creo modeling
Understanding of the theory of operation and customer interaction with agricultural equipment
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of fabrication and welding processes
Part print interpretation knowledge
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) experience

Education (or equivalent work experience)
