Due to the development of John Deere Polska Business Service Center in Poznań we are currently seeking candidates for the position of:
Senior General Ledger Accountant
Poznan, Poland
Your responsibilities:
Unit’s contact person - responsibility to perform and coordinate different accounting processes to submit accurate and timely financial results and monthly collaboration with various business partners
Assume responsibility of monthly financial statements according to US GAAP and perform monthly reviews of Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts with our internal customers with focus
Judgmental comparison of GL balances month to month and year to date
Approving and making recurring and non-recurring journal entries, e.g. inventory, intercompany, fixed assets, accruals, impairments,
Effective and prompt identification and resolving problems during the month as a key to meet closing deadlines
Act as the contact person for accounting related topics for internal departments, internal and external auditors as well as other accounting departments around the globe.
Manage projects for standardization and harmonization of accounting processes as well as development and implementation of new processes in accounting.
Providing support to other team members in day-to-day processes and support the manager with current priorities
Lead the work of other accountants and departments, ensuring timely task execution of the accounting team based on the closing script
Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify tasks and processes which are suitable for centralization and coordinate transitions accordingly.
Our requirements:
+2 years professional experience in corporate full general ledger accounting or management accounting.
+2 years of experience with management/statutory financial reports preparation at similar position in a multinational company or Shared Service Centre utilizing US GAAP knowledge.
Practical knowledge of SAP and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup).
Excellent communication in English, written and verbal.
Readiness to work in extended working hours during closing weeks.
Successfully completed studies with university degree in Finance/Accounting.
Ability to plan, execute tasks independently and lead work of other accountants and departments.
Analytical skills, eye for accuracy, solution oriented.
Flexible attitude, self-motivated, well organized, independent.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and customer focus.
German language will be an advantage.
