Title: Manufacturing Engineering

Primary Location: Mexico (MX) - Nuevo León JD Shared Svcs-Ramos Component

Function: Manufacturing Engineering

Major Purpose

Performs manufacturing engineering work for Small AG & Tractors units in SAT Americas within Welding Capability in ETEC Mexico. Operates in a team environment within the enterprise product delivery process.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provides support and basic trouble shooting for current operations. Investigates, gathers and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks.

  • Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope.

  • Identifies and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope.

  • Works with electronic tools to perform engineering functions.

  • Develops and implements plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System. Designs operations layouts to improve material flow and material presentation.

  • Participates in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency.

  • Implements new manufacturing processes and technology.

What Skills You Need

  • Knowledge of engineering systems, tools and databases.

  • Background in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, etc.).

  • Understands the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).

  • Understanding of specification systems and decision release systems.

  • Knowledge of process and industrial engineering practices, systems, and tools.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Fluent in English – verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools – Autocad, Creo, Vis, etc

  • Knowledge in Line and Cells Design, Workforce plan calculations and Workload balance.

  • Knowledge in Industrial Engineering and Lean Manufacturing tools.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance, and facilities.

  • Knowledge of database management tools and process management systems

Education (or equivalent experience)

Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)

This position will be posted for a minimum of 7 business days and unposted when a qualified pool of candidates is achieved.
