Advanced material handling concepts for harvesting devices

PhD position (m/f/d) Product Engineer

We ware offering you the opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary team, on the advanced crop flow for our worldwide leading harvesting units. Your main task will be the design, simulation and evaluation of new methods of material handling in various harvesting conditions and crops. We are expecting a high degree of creativity, communication and initiative as well as a strong interest and solid knowledge in modeling, simulation and mechanical design of drivetraings and material transporting solutions.

Through the cooperation with other departments, Research Partners as well as the integration into ongoing projects, we will ensure that you gain valuable knowledge and project experience throughout this position. We are further offering you the opportunity to get to know the latest John Deere products and gain extensive insight into the activities of a globally operating company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, modeling and evaluation of new methods for material handling

  • Development of functional mockups and their performance analysis

    Your profile:

  • Above average graduate of mechanical engineering, mechatronics or equivalent with an affinity for material flow

  • Experience in 3D modeling e.g. CREO

  • Interest in discrete Element Modeling for material flow

  • Experience in prototyping and design verification

  • Solid understanding of drive train systems

  • Good command of English both written and spoken – German is required

  • Openness and interest in agricultural technology
