Thibodaux Production: Painter
Paints parts, assemblies and/or complete machines. Services paint systems and equipment in a team environment. May require some direction or guidance from the Supervisor or Team Leader but not closely supervised.
Support departmental goals (Safety, Quality, and Productivity)
Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following OMS (Operator Method Sheet) and SOE (Sequence of Events).
Applies paint by use of various pain application processes such as spray gun, electro-deposition and/or flow coat equipment.
Prepares paint by use of mixers, thinners and/or adjusting equipment, and/or holding and application equipment.
Services paint systems and related paint equipment.
Changes and adjusts nozzles, valves, paint guns, regulates flow of air, paint and/or voltage levels for paint material application.
Maintains supply of paint and operating materials.
Preps, cleans and prepares parts for paint processes.
Performs own setups and/or works from part prints and/or job specifications.
Checks results for conformance to print and/or specifications and makes necessary corrections.
Records data in SAP and MES systems.
Keeps records for quality, maintenance and/or preventive maintenance.
Moves and positions loads using a crane.
Inspect work to verify specifications.
Follow all quality initiatives (Touch for Quality, Mark for Torque)
Performs daily maintenance in work area.
Take active role on Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Maintain 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of paint systems.
Ability to use an overhead crane.
Ability to perform basic computer functions.
Ability to lift at least 35 lbs. repeatedly.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
Required Safety Equipment:
Safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and metatarsal safety shoes; depending on tasks, may have to wear safety harness, face shield, goggles, respirator, etc.
