Title: Weld Production Supervisor - 103812

Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As a Weld Production Supervisor for John Deere Thibodaux located in Louisiana , you will be responsible for achieving area goals and objectives. Supervising highly skilled production employees on 1st & 2nd shift to ensure the manufacture of products within established safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards. Is the first-line liaison between the production employees and management; thus, also serves the function of representing the company's interests with the shop floor staff.

  • Products include Sugar Cane Harvesters and Loaders, Scrapers, Cotton Headers, AB30 Hoppers, Cotton Pickers and Inter-factory components.

  • Establishes employee environment regarding communications, feedback, and overall guidance to drive Employee Engagement.

  • Ensures that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job.

  • Monitors Control Plans, troubleshoots workmanship problems and generally supervises production activities to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed all established quality requirements.

  • Administers employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the unit.

  • Monitors individual and line performance and takes corrective action including discipline, as needed and responds to complaints to ensure the Company and employees adheres to policies, practices, procedures and work rules.

  • Determines manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and makes daily assignments including filling vacancies and assigning overtime in order to adhere to the Customer Delivery date.

  • Plans for maintenance of equipment and facilities to maximize the uptime and utilization of capital equipment assets.

What Skills You Need

  • 2 or more years of demonstrated team leadership skills, including coaching and facilitation

  • 2 or more years of experience with factory operations in heavy manufacturing

  • 2 or more years of experience with the operating and information systems (SAP, JDAAT, etc.).

  • 1 or more years of experience with project or production planning and management

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment

  • Demonstrated ability to overcome adversity and motivate a team to meet their objectives

  • Experience communicating and facilitating across functions (such as: manufacturing engineering, operations, quality engineering, material flow, supply management, and human resources)

  • Ability and willingness to work daily and weekend overtime.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 2 or more years of experience directly leading or supervising a workforce in a manufacturing environment.

  • 2 or more years of experience in a weld area

  • 1 or more years of experience in assembly, paint, or primaries

  • 1 or more years of experience with Occupational Safety

  • Understanding of employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules appropriate for the unit.

  • Knowledge of products, customers, markets, and competitors.

  • Project management experience including creating a plan, coordinating resources, and delivering results.

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Degree in a Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, or Supply Management discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
