As a Software Engineer on John Deere's Global IT Manufacturing Operations team, you will get the opportunity to
work on large-scale global applications in a Fortune 500 company.
In this position, you will collaborate with other software engineers and analysts to drive
application development and design to meet the requirements of our facilities globally.
In addition, you will:
Work as an active member of an Agile delivery team
Participate in discussions with the scrum team and extended functional teams to develop technical solutions
Contribute to technical analysis, estimations of effort, complexity and risk
Contribute to the design of solutions to improve quality and performance
Work with other members of the team to perform code pairing and ensure high quality code and product delivery
Provide support on a variety of the applications of the product
Participate in DevOps-related activities
Provide consultation to the team regarding logical functioning of code
What skills you need
4+ years of experience in the design, development, testing and integration of medium complex software solutions
3+ years of experience in Java development
2+ years of experience working with multiple integrated systems
2+ years of varied database experience (e.g. Oracle, MS Sql Server, MySQL,etc)
1+ years of experience working with Continuous integration
1+ years of experience with software test automation (TDD and Unit Testing Frameworks: Junit, Mockito, Selenium, Cucumber, Nunit, NSubstitute, etc)
1+ years of experience with design patterns and loosely coupled architecture
Contribute to architectural guidance for future direction of product team, including cloud migration/utilization
Capable of collaborating with multiple business stakeholders to provide information technology solutions
Ability to manage many competing priorities/requests in a fast-paced environment
Appetite for continuous learning and willingness/dedication to develop deep technical skills needed to further develop, transform, and modernize the products and processes
Good writing and spoken English skills
Ability to mentor junior developers and perform proper code reviews
What makes you stand out
Good understanding with DevOps principles and lean development such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (GitHub, Jenkins, Teamcity, SonarQube, etc.)
1+ years of experience with Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
1+ years of work experience in an Agile/Scrum team environments
Good understanding of Application security, authentication/authorization methods and security best practices
Bachelor´s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
