Function: Product Engineering
Title: API Support Software Engineer - 62031
As an API Support Software Engineer, for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG-Urbandale), you will be responsible for providing technical support for API and data products. In addition, you will:
Provide technical support for API and data products to both internal and external software developers
Triage and debug quality issues and drive resolution by escalating to the appropriate individuals/teams
Provide technical onboarding and support to 3rd party software platforms leveraging John Deere API and data products
Enable internal development teams by assisting with automated testing, documentation, and API licensing
Continuously refine, optimize, and automate the API delivery and support process
Manage technical support documentation including formal specifications and sample code/applications
Engage in Agile software development activities including team sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and other supporting teams to define product requirements, system design, and delivery cadences

What Skills You Need
2 or more years of combined development experience with Java, C#, or other comparable object-oriented programming language
2 or more years of experience leveraging SQL for generating data reports/visualizations
2 or more years of experience in automating technical processes (tests, build automation, or similar)
2 or more years of experience in roles that required strong interpersonal communication including collaboration, negotiation, and conflict management skills
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to triage and root cause product issues
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage many simultaneous tasks
Ability to learn new technical skills including new software programming languages, frameworks, and debug tools
Ability to collaborate and influence across functional teams
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience in developing and supporting RESTful web services
Experience with managing an API Gateway platform, such as: AWS API Gateway, Akana, or similar API gateway solution
Experience with managing test and build pipelines with CI/CD frameworks, such as: Jenkins or Drone
Experience leveraging data analytics and visualizations tools, such as: Tableau or Microsoft Power BI
Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience with John Deere equipment and agricultural software solutions, such as: OpsCenter, JDLink, or AgLogic
Experience with directly supporting customers of software
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Computer Science or Technology related discipline
