Title: Software Engineering Supervisor, Connect Mobile Team (Remote Availability) - 53158

Note: This position is currently eligible for a remote teleworking arrangement. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes, and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

As the Software Engineering Supervisor, for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG), you will directly supervise software developers supporting our Operation Center Mobile platform. In addition, you will:

  • Contribute to development at least 25% of the time.

  • Attract, retain, mentor and grow your team.

  • Drive product development in collaboration with design and product management

  • Identify and monitor metrics that define the success of products

  • Help optimize development and remove impediments for the team

What Skills You Need

At this level, you should have significant professional technical experience as well as having lead software development projects. Additional required skills and experiences include:

  • 8 or more years of experience with other languages, such as: C++, Java, Ruby, or Python

  • 2 or more years of Native iOS development in Objective C / Swift or Android mobile development experience

  • 3 or more years of experience in one of more of the following: REST, JSON

  • 2 or more years of experience using AWS services (SQS, SNS, Elastic, Beanstalk, Lambda, S3, Kinesis, etc)

  • 3 or more years using Automated Test Frameworks (Selenium, Squish, Cucumber, Calabash, XCUI, etc)

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 6 or more years of experience with Agile and Extreme Programming (XP) software development practices (XP, TDD, etc)

  • 4 or more years of experience in roles that required strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills

  • 4 or more years of experience in roles that required strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • 2 or more years of experience in demonstrated technical leadership skills

  • 2 or more years of experience in leading and supervising a medium size (6-10 members) team

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Computer Science or Technology related discipline
