As a Manufacturing Engineering Tooling Designer for JDS Valley City located in Valley City, ND, you will….
Provide on-going production support to tooling concerns including quality of the part and functionality of the tool
Provide estimated tooling costs and lead times for major tooling to product engineering for budgetary planning of Authority for Expenditures (AFEs). Monitor actual cost of tools against the budget
Process tooling requests on new or revised parts to determine exact tooling requirements and determine type of tool needed
Procure the required tooling from internal tool room or external tool suppliers and implement into production

What Skills You Need
Background in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, etc.)
Skills in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools
Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Knowledge of materials engineering and engineering mechanics
Engineering knowledge of materials properties
What Makes You Stand Out
Prior tooling experience in a repetitive manufacturing environment.
Experience with 3D printing.
Project management skills or experience.
Technical experience related to heavy manufacturing processes.
Ability to influence without authority.
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent related work experience
