Title: Aftertreatment PM Control Lead - 41515
As an Aftertreatment PM Control Lead for John Deere Power Systems in Waterloo, Iowa, you will define aftertreatment system requirements and lead development for the diesel oxidation catalyst/diesel particulate filter (DOC/DPF) subsystem. In addition you will:
Guide development of DOC/DPF control system and calibration
Assist with DOC/DPF aftertreatment hardware development and Product Verification & Validation (PV&V)
Assure that DOC/DPF performance requirements are fulfilled to meet product delivery process (PDP) program goals
Provide technical expertise to engine development and vehicle development groups during PDP programs
Support technology development programs to align with Critical Component Delivery Process (CCDP) projects
Supervise a team of development engineers

What Skills You Need
Five or more years’ experience with engine or aftertreatment development
Knowledge of system interactions between aftertreatment and other major engine subsystems and what impacts performance of each area
Desire and ability to lead/manage people, assist in their development and provide clear expectations
One year of leadership/supervision experience through direct supervision or influence without authority
Deep understanding of diesel engine emissions, aftertreatment systems and controls as well as knowledge of the tools available for their control
Ability to organize and manage engine test cell and analysis resources to meet performance needs of a program
Deep knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and European Union (EU) emission regulations and familiarity with China and India emission regulations
What Makes You Stand Out
3 or more years’ experience working with diesel engine emissions, aftertreatment systems and controls
3 or more years’ experience with DOC/DPF components, control systems, or calibration
Knowledge of both hardware and software aspects of engine control systems
Expert understanding of global emission regulations
Experience working with diverse cultures
Education (or equivalent work experience)
- Bachelors of Science in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
