Title: Engine Integration & Auxiliaries Design Engineer - 81226

Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As an Engine Integration & Auxiliaries Design Engineer at the John Deere Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, IA, you will work in a team environment to develop and implement complex product design strategies and solutions, system layouts, conceptual space claims, and analysis for a defined portion of new product development programs. In addition, you will:

  • Apply systems engineering methodology to develop requirements and specifications that must be fulfilled for complex problems and projects of moderate scope

  • Develop and implement design solutions in the areas of Engine Integration, Enclosures, and Engine Auxiliaries (intake, cooling, exhaust, etc.) to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications.

  • Complete pertinent trade-off analyses and compile necessary documentation for concept selection and design solutions (design decisions, analysis and testing results, cost, investment, etc.).

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of experience in product engineering roles involving product design, test, or analysis

  • 1 or more years of experience with using and/or applying results of engineering and analysis tools including tolerance stacks, FEA

  • 1 or more years of experience with 3D modeling and working with large assembly models, with proficiency or commitment to develop proficiency in Creo

  • Working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex problems (statics, kinematics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and material properties).

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive action in ambiguous circumstances.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and collaborate within a diverse team to accomplish project deliverables

  • Demonstrated excellent technical writing & verbal communication skills

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience and technical depth in one or more of the following areas: diesel engine application and integration, cooling systems design or analysis, engine auxiliaries, vehicle design and layout

  • One or more years of experience working with off-road vehicle engineering, preferably in the Ag or Construction Industry.

  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
