Title: Machining Manufacturing Engineer, Programming - 42351

Your Responsibilities

As a Machining Manufacturing Engineer - Programming, for the Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you support process improvement, as well as plan, implementation and support newmodel introduction and new machine purchases related to new models, and planned capacity increases. In addition, you will:

  • Conduct quality planning activities including statistical process control, process monitoring, and product inspection; development of process routings; procurement of tooling and gaging; and, as needed, justification and procurement of machine tools in support of part manufacturing

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production process, machine, and quality issues

  • Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations Implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas

  • Assist in team studies related to capacity, productivity and efficiency and may design and manage the procurement of gear and shaft manufacturing equipment, tools and gages

  • Support work completed on 1st shift (day shift). However, there are rare occasions when the engineer will need to work with the off-shifts (afternoons and midnights); additionally occasional travel needs for benchmarking and purchasing equipment

What Skills You Need

  • Experience working in a cast iron manufacturing/engineering environment

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete multiple, concurrent projects

  • Understanding of tooling and tooling systems

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

  • Good Communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with SAP business software

  • General understanding of Zoller presetters, TDM, Kardex, Creo, Creo/NC, FeatureCAM, Vericut, Kotem, Infinity, TMAC

  • Experience in roles that demonstrate a working knowledge of CMM report structure

  • Experience with Mori Seiki and Mazak CNC machines

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Ag Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, related technical degree or equivalent work experience.
