Title: OFP Assembly Manufacturing Engineer 7R/8R TCAO - 43327

Your Responsibilities

As an OFP Assembly Manufacturing Engineer at John Deere Tractor Cab & Assembly Operations located in Waterloo, IA you will provide Assembly ME support and basic troubleshooting for current operations on the 7R/8R Chassis Assembly Line. In addition, you will:

  • Act as a departmental Manufacturing Engineer (ME) in driving improvements to support our Distinctive Product Quality initiatives, drive continuous improvements in delivery, uptime, cost and efficiency.

  • Support and/or drive the Continuous Improvement process for the department including project execution, improvement activities and NWG engagement

  • Research, initiate and execute safety and ergonomics improvement activities and projects.

  • Implement and maintain 5S, visual factory, TPMs, IPKs and other "lean" oriented principles

  • Conduct and maintain required activities to support JD-QPS

  • Implement engineering and model year changes as designed for the Chassis Line

  • Lead the analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology

  • Lead capital projects as needed to improve safety, quality, capacity, flexibility, and efficiency

What Skills You Need

  • 1+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering position (academic/internship experience acceptable)

  • Experience with work instruction software, SAP functions, RECON and other software tools

  • Experience with standard data application, time study, line balance, cost/pay structure and other basic Industrial Engineering fundamentals

  • Experience with process development, tooling design, fixturing and workstation layout

  • Experience with Bill of Materials structure, build papers and ECN process execution

  • Ability to work off shifts and weekends

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with AutoCAD, FactoryCAD, Pro E and Creo Software

  • Experience with JDAAT(John Deere Assembly Assist Tool)

  • Experience with WPlanner and OMS development

  • Experience implementing engineering changes

  • Experience working in a production environment

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Technology discipline
