Title: Operations Project Manager - 96752

Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As an Operations Project Manager for John Deere Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will manage and coordinate the successful delivery of strategic Operations projects with low complexity and/or tactical Operations projects with high complexity. In addition, you will:

  • Support the successful execution of projects in Cast Iron and Drivetrain West Machining located at Drivetrain Components.

  • Lead development and execution of plans to deliver machining capability driven by New Product Programs, capacity requirements and other business improvements.

  • Lead project team to deliver multiple concurrent machining projects through concept, scope, RFQ, acquisition and successful implementation.

  • Work cross functionally and provide guidance to Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Material Flow and Operations to successfully meet project timelines and objectives.

  • Develop and manage relevant AFE and project budgets.

  • Collaborate with DTC leadership team to develop and implement future part family and departmental business models supporting OROA, OROS and other key metrics.

What Skills You Need

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or machining processes, Enterprise Product Delivery process (EPDP), Order Fulfillment process and the Deere Production System

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, Kanban and Demand Flow Technology

  • Project management experience demonstrating effective communication, teamwork skills, problem solving and multiple concurrent project workload management

  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process

  • Demonstrated communication skills adapting messages to variety of audiences to align objectives

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 3 or more years of drivetrain machining experience in a core functional area

  • 3 or more years of experience in project management – small to moderate scale projects

  • 3 or more years of manufacturing and/or operations experience

  • Cross functional work experience in multiple areas, i.e. quality, manufacturing engineering, operations, material flow

  • Experience with machine cell rebalancing and machine relocations

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead without authority across functional areas

  • Experience in business plan development at a department level

  • Knowledge of DTC capacity evaluation and capacity planning process

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
