Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa (US-IA) - Waterloo
Function: Supply Management / Logistics
Title: Part-Time Student - Inventory Control - Waterloo, IA - 42148
Position will be responsible for the cycle counting process for Value Class A & B parts (100% counted each year) and Value Class C & D parts (100% counted every 3 years) with the intent to comply with Deere & Company guidelines.
Coordination is required to count, reconcile and investigate root cause of discrepancies.
Worksheets will be kept showing when the part was counted, what our system inventory was at the time of the count and what our physical count was in order to keep track of our accuracy level. This supports our factory goal of reaching 95% inventory accuracy.
Duties will also include -
Filing and documentation system to aid in reviewing history on adjustments to parts.
Participate in quarterly random audits for Deere & Co. by preparing count packets and participating in the counting process within the warehouse and recounting if necessary (with auditor, if applicable).
Create and publish weekly and monthly reports:
Weekly report of blocked inventory
Month-end Inventory by Storage Location for Days on Hand
Month-end cycle count reporting;
What It Takes
Basic computer knowledge:
MS-Excel (VLOOKUP, Filters, Formulas, Pivot Tables)
Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Math, or Supply Chain Management; others may apply
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Graduation date of December 2019 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
A strong candidate will also have
Production knowledge on how material flows through a factory
