Function: Manufacturing Engineering
Title: Part-Time Student - Manufacturing Engineering - Waterloo, IA - 56142
Provides support for and/or assistance with engineering processes at the Foundry.
Part-Time Students at this level typically perform basic and routine tasks using existing tools and processes for improvements in Safety, Quality and Efficiency.
May provide routine analysis for manufacturing processes and methods, and may provide guidance on tasks being perform by operations personnel.
Support team with Process Documentation and Value Stream Mapping activities.
Support TPM meetings and data collection to Drive CI changes in daily business.
What It Takes
Knowledge of Fundamental Engineering Principles
Microsoft Office Tools - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Basic Data Analysis including descriptive statistics i.e. Mean, Median, Std. Deviation
Must be able to work in a manufacturing setting around heavy equipment and understand safety policies.
Pursuing a four-year degree in Foundry Technology program of study, however any Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program will be able to meet the expectations of the position.
Must be a full-time student at a local university or college
Must be available to work a minimum of 12 months
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Graduation date of December 2020 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
A strong candidate will also have
Six sigma knowledge to interpret data
Power Point, Visio
PRO E, Cad, 3D modeling software
