Function: Manufacturing Engineering
Title: Part-Time Student - Manufacturing Engineering - Waterloo, IA - 50439
Work with the Manufacturing Engineering and Operations teams to support the successful execution of the F9 New Products Builds.
This entails process planning and preparation for production: virtual manufacturing, work planning/industrial engineering, tooling procurement, plant layout, and capitalization.
What It Takes
Demonstrated problem resolution and analytical skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and proficient in computer skills.
Great communication skills both written and verbal.
An interest in or educational path related to technology or manufacturing.
Pursuing a four-year degree in Manufacturing or industrial engineering, manufacturing or industrial technology. Also applicable is education in science, mathematics, technical studies preferred, or previous work experience in manufacturing.
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Graduation date of May 2020 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
A strong candidate will also have
Experience working in a production environment.
Experience with continuous improvement processes.
Experience with tractors or other commercial vehicles.
Mechanical or electrical work experience.
Experience w/ Microsoft Excel (or ability to learn database tools), Microsoft Outlook, and CAD programs (AutoCAD or ProEngineer).
Prior experience using SAP would be beneficial.
