Function: Product Engineering

Title: Part-Time Student - Product Engineering - Waterloo, IA - 56810

Your Responsibilities

  • The primary role for this position will be to coordinate the evaluation of Aftertreatment warranty returns and support the investigation of failure modes identified in warranty.

  • You will work with Aftertreatment engineers to define and/ or improve test requirements and procedures for warranty returns, ensure proper part identification and inspection along with testing per the defined procedures, retrieve and maintain documentation of results, report findings, coordinate regular warranty parts review meetings with engineers and facilitate disposition of warranty returns after test including shipment to suppliers.

  • In addition, you will support warranty failure mode investigations by assisting engineers with special bench tests and analysis of test results, Diagnostic Trouble Code occurrences and warranty data.

What It Takes

  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to assist in solving detailed problems

  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently while learning new methods and processes.

  • Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial and Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MIS or similar

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university

  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis

  • Graduation date of May 2021

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year

  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester

A strong candidate will also have

  • Experience creating or maintaining information within Office 365, Access, Tableau and SharePoint and using Excel macros
