Function: Product Engineering

Title: Part-Time Student - Product Line Management Team Assistant - Waterloo, IA - 55032

Your Responsibilities

  • The student employee will be essential in running Visual Reporting data, updating and facilitating Change Control meetings and macros, and ensuring completion of the EPDP tools such as project plans and ensuring accuracy of phase exit documents.

  • The student will assist with the Build the Cost Cushion cost management process within the EPDP, and will be involved even more as we strive to establish target costs for components costing $25 or greater.

  • The student will be a resource for all LT PLMT's in Waterloo allowing for a broad spectrum of opportunities supporting any of the 13 functional areas.

  • The student position will complete job duties the organization requires but is unable to satisfy due to some functional area resource constraints which include but are not limited to:

  • Creation/Completion of ESO documents

  • Correction of MIS data to enable cost/capital data accuracy

  • Correction of MIS data to enable lead time and override accuracy for part workflow/ordering accuracy

  • Assist Quality organization with issue documentation at physical builds for all Large Tractor FB, DB, LPB, SOP build events

  • Support Manufacturing & OFP with feet on the ground material flow and part location/replenishment for pre-build, build, and post-build events

  • Correction of data to allow balance of Team Forms for accounting use in balancing COE reflection and system differences

What It Takes

  • The employee will be responsible to make decisions for visual reporting and change control. Such as:

  • running reports for delinquent parts and following up for task completion

  • updating change control macro needs to encompass complexity or target cost automations

  • This person will also make decisions based on ESO locations, part delivery, MIS data content, etc.

  • Additional duties to support all functional areas on the PLMT.

  • Additional work around SCI is primary and as time allows, supporting MFG and Quality organizations during build events.

  • Pursuing a four-year degree

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university (Hawkeye, UNI, Wartburg)

  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis

  • Graduation date of December 2020 or later

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year

  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
