Title: Staff Engineer, Fuels and Engine Oils - 75271
As the Staff Engineer, Fuels and Engine Oils, for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) located in Waterloo, IA, you will be the technical expert in conventional fuels (both diesel and gasoline), alternative fuels, fuel products and fuel systems for the Enterprise. In addition, you will be the co-expert on engine oil and lubrication systems for the Enterprise. You will work across the Enterprise with engineering, supply management and marketing staffs. Your primary responsibility will be fuels and engine oils, but also provide backup support for engine coolants and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).

What Skills You Need
Strong engine knowledge, both compression-ignition and spark-ignition.
Knowledge of fuel systems and familiarity with the lubrication and cooling systems.
Five (5) or more years background in engine testing and aftertreatment.
Five (5) or more years Background in technical service/customer support.
Five (5) or more years’ experience supporting Marketing.
Ten (10) or more years’ experience with industry test development and standards setting groups for fuels and engine oil.
Familiarity with API engine oil categories.
Project and budget management as well as excellent soft skills.
Demonstrated capability regarding product innovation and technical creativity.
Good proficiency in computer software platforms for routine usage.
What Makes You Stand Out
Ability to communicate to both non-technical and technical audiences.
Experience in team building.
Demonstrated ability to multitask.
Previous experience supporting Marketing Expositions.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Ten years or more experience in compression ignition (diesel) fuels.
