Waterloo Works Factory Skilled: Machine Hand/Tool Room Machinist
Tool Room Machinist employees set up and operate in a team environment machines such as manual and CNC lathes, mills, horizontal boring machine in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment. They must produce a wide variety of non-repetitive parts, holding close tolerances in an efficient manner while following strict safety practices and OSHA regulations. In addition they are expected to:
Perform tasks necessary to support operations in a team environment
Work with minimal supervision
Supply their own tools
Work shifts (choice of shift based on seniority)
- Acceptable Journeyman’s card in Tool Room Machining and/or equivalent education/experience
- AAS Degree in Tool and Die
Minimum 2 years related tool room machining experience
Experience creating high precision components utilizing a variety of tool room machines (Lathes, Mills, Grinders, Jig Bore and Boring Mills) both manual and CNC controlled
Ability to read blueprints, hold close tolerances, deal with multiple activities, requests and emergencies
